Initial Consultation and Fertility Assessment

Before beginning treatment for infertility at the CWRC, prospective patients receive an initial consultation to determine whether they can benefit from the fertility services and treatments available. This initial consultation with a physician includes taking a history and requesting initial tests to assess possible causes of infertility. For the female patient, these tests may include a hormonal evaluation and the examination of the physical integrity and structure of the fallopian tubes and uterus, which may be assessed using procedures such as a
hysterosalpingogram and/or
hysteroscopy. As part of the male infertility evaluation, a semen analysis will be requested to determine any male factors for infertility. The physicians will use test results and previous treatment and medical histories to determine an appropriate course of treatment.
After the initial consultation, prospective patients may choose to meet with support and/or financial counselors. A financial counselor can help you review the costs associated with your treatment and the insurance benefits you may have.
