Reproductive Surgery & Procedures

In some cases, it is necessary in the treatment of infertility to observe the woman's uterus, ovaries, or fallopian tubes to assess physical structure and integrity. Our center offers surgical procedures that may help physicians evaluate conditions causing infertility, as well as reproductive surgery procedures.

Hysteroscopy – Diagnostic and Operative

A hysteroscopy is a minor surgical procedure in which a very fine, lighted telescope is placed through the woman's cervix to allow the uterus to be observed. Through this telescope various procedures can be performed.

Laparoscopy – Diagnostic and Operative

A laparoscopy is a procedure in which a surgical instrument is inserted through a small incision below the woman's navel, allowing the ovaries and the outside of the fallopian tubes and uterus to be observed. Using laparoscopy, a physician can visually assess conditions such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, previous tubal infection scarring, tubal pregnancies, adhesions from previous surgeries, or infections. Operative laparoscopy treats many of these conditions.

Tubal Microsurgery (Laparoscopic Tubal Reanastomocis)

This is a surgical procedure in which previously ligated (cut) fallopian tubes are reattached.

Gynecologic Laser Surgery
Submucous Resection of Fibroids
Laparoscopic Myomectomy

A laparoscopic myomectomy is a surgical procedure in which a slender telescope-like instrument is placed through small incisions in the abdomen area in order to facilitate the removal of fibroids from the uterus, while leaving the uterus intact. This procedure allows the uterus to be preserved for future fertility.
